Tour Dates..!!
OK, the long haul starts here.... The Shangri-las
tour dates are few and far between. yet they worked harder than most bands
often doing multiple appearances in one day... so if you have any dates you
can recall or you know of appearances in which the girls may have appeared
somewhere and its not listed....email me.
Heres something unique.... the insert from the 1964 UK tour that wouldve
broken a few hearts.!!

Top 40 RADIO CHARTS.
Weekly
Music Charts were common place and still are. These charts generally showed
a local listing and
were not really any indication on national Sales( ie Cashbox or Billboard).
The interesting thing Ivefound with them is you got an idea of what songs
were hot and what genres of music were emerging . Keep in mind, they changed
weekly and are also no indication to the overall National position of the
song. Click the chart to view...
Tour Programs, ads etc... rarities added.
Ive added the
covers of some tour programs which were package shows that the Shangri-las
performed on.
Also theres a link to your typical generic page that would feature the Shangri-las.
Ive also added
Ads etc... courtesy of Mick Patrick. Many thanks there.!!!

Betty Weiss turns Sweet 16 !!
Heres
a photo never seen before online. The photo was taken by Frank Daniele, who
has genorously granted
permission for me to use it. It was taken at Bettys sweet 16 birthday party
and sitting right next to her is Margie.
Fingers crossed Frank will share other images and momentos from his personal
collection.
59 Best ofs vs 35 singles/eps sleeves.
pictured above is in my
opinion
the only one worth owning.
Check out the cover art for the others.
Check out the lyrics,
and sing along to your fave song.
Now, The lyrics have been transposed by ear, having said that, please
understand
the human element in this process can give rise to mis hearing words... Email
me if there are errors
and they will be corrected.

Contributions,!!!
Some great people
have stepped up to help with this site, and I have to say, without their help
it would not
have been possible. Esp, John Grecco
who offered advice and the use of some fantastic items, Juan
Casiano and Frank
Daniele who has contributed
alot of personal items from there own collection ,
to Mick Patrick and the Spectropop
newsgroup and also the Girlgroups.com message board, from which alot of images
used were sent to me and appear in the pages of this site.
Many thanks to you all.

Im a fan who thought it was about time there was a dedicated site for the
Shangri-Las.
This is the best I can do... but with your help it will grow.
P.S I would like to thank my sister Lindy, who first
turned me onto
the Shangri-Las in the very early 70's, providing me with my earliest musical
memory. :-)
