Roberta Bayley Photos plus CBGB gig – Jan 1977

Roberta Bayley is a fantastic photographer. Well thats my opinion. Looking through her site you will be amazed at how many great bands she photographed and also how many of the pics you may already have been familiar with. I have over the years in rock photo books admired her work without knowing Roberta had taken the pics. Her work oozes cool New York.
The photo above was taken when the Shangri-las had briefly reformed and were recording in early ‘77, sadly for their own reasons they felt it wasn’t happening. Roberta took a bunch of great photos from this period and also some sweet shots of an inpromtu gig at New Yorks CBGB club. Out of all the photos, the above is by far my favourite out of all the photos from the set.

Hi Linda. We will post about Mary’s solo career eventually but we need to hear from her first about her future plans. Let’s hope we get some news real soon. Everything about the new album and upcoming shows will be covered here and on the Discussion Group.
