Lloyd Thaxton and The Shangri-las

TV-picSadly when Lloyd Thaxton passed away a world of insight and life was taken, I never saw any of his shows. Growing up  in New Zealand we only had 2 Tv channels. All you ever saw was shows about dogs chasing sheep into a pen or a show called  the News ( the second show was always on !!).

Yes we had music shows, but again these were few and far between. We had our own music legends in NZ, who like most are slowly passing on… But we didnt have a show like Lloyds.  I would love to have had access to Lloyds show growing up.  I think it wouldve been pretty awesome.

I dont know how many people really get into reading blogs, but well…. Lloyd had a blog. Its pretty interesting too.SHANGRI-LAS-1

If you click the pic above or the link below in this post,  you will get his blog. Its really interesting, loads of great photos, and if you love TV history, its a real treat.

Sadly the first post you will see is that from his wife in regards to his passing, but needless to say, that in a strange way is just the beginning. As his wife put it,  He is off on his next creative project.

Enjoy.

Oh boy those 70's,some of the clothes were alright, then some of them were really ugly. But what The Shangs are wearing pretty cool.
I just love seeing these pictures,it really takes me back to when I'd be in my room listening to The Shangri-Las and my older sister
